Over the last 20 years, Family Promise has grown from a handful of congregations in New Jersey to now 132 Affiliates in communities nationwide. In that time, our Affiliates:
- served more than 220,000 low-income and homeless family members,
- engaged over 5,000 congregations of all faiths,
- mobilized 125,000 dedicated volunteers,
- developed 725 Community Initiatives to further assist local families,
- and helped 80% of our guest families find permanent housing.
As the year continues, Family Promise is poised to open 13 new Affiliates, creating new opportunities for volunteers to help at-risk families at a time when more and more of our neighbors are struggling to get by.
In communities across the country, our Affiliates will be marking our 20th Anniversary during Family Promise Week, from September 14 through 20, as a way to thank all of those involved in their compassionate support for our guest families. Affiliate staff, board members, and volunteers are also invited to participate in our Ninth National Conference in October, to share ideas and connect with colleagues.
